(Fresno) In anticipation of tonight’s State of the Union address and the opposition party response, Jason Kassel, PhD, a Democratic candidate running in the 5th District primary, released the following statement:
“Legislative terrorists such as Representative Tom “Marjorie Taylor Greene” McClintock have done nothing to help the country move away from a precarious economic position. His Christian Nationalist Republican Party (supported by QAnon, an FBI-designated terrorist threat, the Proud Boys, a violent paramilitary organization, and the Oath Keepers, an organized anti-government militia) is deluded, bizarre, and extremely violent.
“It is very clear that there is something abnormal about Rep. Tom “Marjorie Taylor Greene” McClintock’s Christian Nationalist Republican Party. Individually and collectively the core members threaten American secular pluralism.
“The Christian Nationalist Republican Party is in charge of the House of Representatives. It is not optional to pay the debt ceiling. It is the amount already spent and is owed to the banks. It has to be paid or the markets will tumble. That isn’t speculation. Every one connected to the financial world agrees with this assessment.
“President Biden has the correct posture. Pay the debt ceiling and then negotiate a budget. Two separate steps. Rep. Tom “Marjorie Taylor Greene” McClintock and his violent Christian Nationalist Republican Party can either remain anarchists who “just want to watch it burn” or they can be legislators who work to help America.”
