(Fresno) Jason Kassel, Democratic candidate running for California’s 5th Congressional District released the following statement:
“I hope the local and national press is asking Christian Nationalist Republicans like Tom “Marjorie Taylor Greene” McClintock whether or not they will explore the weaponization of the federal government during the administration of Donald Trump.
“In yesterday’s Oversight Committee hearing on the “Twitter Files,” it was discovered that President Trump weaponized his position to communicate with Twitter CEOs to have the following Cheryl Tiegen post removed.
“Let me repeat that. We have evidence that President Trump directed his Administration to force Twitter, a private company, to remove a statement that criticized him. We have zero evidence that Biden’s campaign did anything during the 2020 election.
“That is a weaponization of the federal government. The local and national media must not allow Christian Nationalist Republicans to put forward false narratives when hearings clearly present evidence that refute their contentions.
“The American public is owed more than a mere repetition of Christian Nationalist Republican inanity. My opponent, Tom “Marjorie Taylor Greene” McClintock is supported by an FBI-designated terrorist threat (QAnon), a paramilitary force (Proud Boys), and an organized anti-government militia (Oath Keepers). Local and national media should continually ask about these factors and probe Christian Nationalist Republicans on their underlying hatred for everything about secular America.”
